One more chance to purchase a few items, including class project reprints

Hi Green Lake Parents:

Because our silent auction was a little shorter this year and attendees got stuck in traffic on the way down, we have a number of items that you may not have been able to bid on. And, if you didn’t attend, here’s your chance to purchase a few items.

CLASS PROJECTS:

(NOTE: None of the below are limited to your own class. Anyone may purchase any of the below posters, notecards or cookbook. All items are unlimited quantities except the Team A notecards as noted below.)

The following projects have fabulous posters available for $25.00 each.

  • Mr. Leahy’s class – There’s No Place like Home
  • Mrs. Harrington’s class – Turtle Tiles
  • Mrs. Sipe’s class – Jackson Pollack

Any or all of them would look fabulous on your child’s wall!

What about those special notecards? Maybe, you just want your child’s specific artwork on a card to send your friend’s and family. We can do that.
10 beautifully created cards by your child for $25.00.

  • Mrs. Harrington’s class – Turtle Portrait
  • Mrs. Talmadge – Color Portrait
  • Mr. Kunkel – Self Portrait

There are 7 packages of the handmade Team A cards available. These cards are gorgeous and make fabulous thank you cardds (first email, first served basis)

Do you need to come up with a good treat for a birthday? The kids in kindergarten are here to help you out with their fabulous Cookie Cookbook. Each recipe is perfectly illustrated by each child, including their name and photo!!! It’s a bright, fun cookbook that would be perfect in everyone’s kitchen. Great for yourself or to send as a gift.
A full color, 110 page cookbook is a cost of $30.00 per book.

Please email ttavis@gmail.com with your order requests for any of the above and we will coordinate shipment of your items.

All of the funds raised will help pay for the many programs we offer to continue helping our kids receive a great education at Green Lake Elementary.

Photo Booth Fun

This year, we tried something a little different and created a fun photo booth area loaded with props. Attendees could become the witch, scarecrow or the ever popular tin man.

Thank you Green Lake Parents and Teachers!

A HUGE thanks to those of you attended the auction this past weekend. It was great success, lots of fun and we raised a good amount of money thanks to your support. How much? We will have numbers for you later this week along with a list of items still up for grabs. So, even if you didn’t attend, you will have an opportunity to attend some parties, get a few items that are still available, purchase notecards or posters of class projects, Kindergarten cookbooks or just make a donation to the Auction.

In addition, if you would like to be involved in the planning for next year, we’d love to have you on the committee. The planning is already underway. Please contact me for more information.

Credit cards on file will be charged and auction receipts will be mailed or sent home later this week.

Thanks again and look for the email with items available later this week.

Dash on down the yellow brick road for desserts.

The dessert dash is a fun, exciting and delicious part of the auction.

At the dessert dash, your table will get a chance to compete with other tables to determine the order in which desserts get selected, so the table with the highest bid gets first choice and so on. Some examples of the desserts to bid on this year will be: chocolate salted caramel cake, mile high apple pie, triple coconut cream pie, Irish cream brownies, chocolate covered strawberries and so much more!

Join us at the annual Green Lake Auction

There’s no place like home, but somewhere over the rainbow is our annual Green Lake Auction!

The great and mighty Oz invites you to join us for a memorable evening at the Emerald City Auction this year! The auction is one of our school’s primary fundraising events and the proceeds from the auction directly support teachers, programs and supplies that are not funded by the Seattle Public School district. With recent budget cuts, we need your help now more than ever.

The event will include dinner and drinks, for adults only. You will have an opportunity to bid on items featured in the Silent and Live Auctions, win a bottle of wine at the wine toss and participate to purchase an amazing dessert in the Dessert Dash. This is always a fun event and a great opportunity to socialize with other Green Lake parents. There will be items in many different categories and price ranges.

If you only had a brain, you’d put down those Munchkins and mark March 24th on your calendar right now! If you only had a heart, you’d come to the Auction and bid a lot! If only you had courage, you’d sponsor a table.

So … follow the yellow brick road to the Auction! Tickets go on sale in mid-February.

See you in the Emerald City!

The Auction Team

We Need You!!!

We are asking all Greenlake families to procure items for our spring auction fundraiser – we can’t do it without you!!  Start by asking what you can donate. Ask friends, family, clients and businesses to donate!

Experiences raise lots of money, so here are some ideas:

  •
Tickets to sporting events and concerts
  •
Vacation rentals and weekend getaways
  •
Fishing, boating, rafting and biking excursions
  •
Golf outings, spa days, wine tours
  • Classes: Are you an expert? You can offer to each a class in cooking, golfing, knitting, poker, music, drawing, martial arts, soccer, or ask your favorite teacher to donate lessons.
  •
Parties for grown ups: Tailgate parties, dinner parties, pool parties, poker parties, game night
  •
Kids theme parties, park passes
  • Services: Ask businesses like your favorite spa, hair salon, handyman, instructor, coffee shop, software company, photographer, car service, or retailer to donate a gift or a service.
  • Gift certificates: Ask your favorite restaurant or retail store to donate a gift certificate or merchandise.

Procurement forms are available in the office and online.

Questions? If you have an idea for a donation, but aren’t sure, please contact
Susan Ferguson at smfergus@uw.edu
